Associate Ambulance Practitioner / Technician
The Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) provides compassionate care as part of the Emergency & Urgent Care team, responding to emergency and urgent calls. They assess, treat, and manage service users on the scene, often avoiding the need for hospital admission. AAPs work closely with other emergency services and the wider NHS, and have knowledge and skills beyond those of Healthcare Support Workers. They evaluate problems, communicate results effectively, and exercise personal responsibility. AAPs undergo further training and operate under the supervision of a senior clinician during a probationary period.
